At Little Gems, we embrace a client-focused approach to therapy, placing the child and their family at the heart of our practice. We know that every child is unique and has their own strengths and abilities. Our goal is to empower children to thrive by collaborating closely with families in a supportive and inclusive way.
We believe therapy can be especially impactful when it happens in a child’s familiar surroundings, which is why we bring our services to you!
Our therapeutic approach includes:
Hi, I'm Brigette Sloane, a registered Occupational Therapist with a passion for supporting children on their journey of growth and development. I live on the Central Coast with my soon-to-be husband and our fur-babies; Gemma and Lucy!
I have been working with children for over 6 years, and I've experienced first hand the incredible impact that occupational therapy can have on a child's life. I believe in creating an environment where children can feel comfortable exploring, learning, and achieving their goals. I'm committed to providing high-quality, evidence-based therapy that is fun and tailored to each child's individual needs and interests!
Little Gems Occupational Therapy Services are available to children and young people on the north end of the Central Coast. We offer:
Little Gems supports children and young people with developmental delays and disabilities, neurodivergence, motor skill difficulties, behavioural difficulties, and physical and intellectual disabilities.
Occupational Therapy at Little Gems focuses on helping children maximise their independence, engagement, and enjoyment within their world. We believe in the power of meaningful occupations, which encompass everything that occupies a child's time, from play and learning, to daily routines and social interactions.
While this may seem broad, here are some common areas where we can support your child:
Supporting pretend play stage development, attention and meaningful participation within play, social interactions, and problem-solving skills.
Helping you and your child understand their unique sensory profile and navigate these differences effectively.
Supporting children with activities such as dressing, grooming, feeding, and toileting.
Developing fine motor skills such as handwriting, cutting, drawing, and other essential skills for everyday life like dressing and play.
Supporting coordination, balance, and strength through engaging activities.
Enhancing visual perception, eye-hand coordination, and visual-spatial skills, which are essential for activities like writing, drawing, and catching a ball.
